That scene in Arkham Asylum was done about as well as you could possibly do it in a game, I think. My only problem with it is that it's been done over and over again in the comics and cartoons by this point; I must have seen at least a dozen versions of it by now. So for me it just felt like a retread, in semi-interactive form.

Also, the moment you mentioned you loved in "Rear Window" before the scare? That whole lead-up for the stairs? For me, this game had it, with the spoilerific scene in the hallway down the Gotham streets. It made me cry, which is a first for a videogame since The Darkness.

Agreed wholeheartedly, even if I love the game to death. The boss battles and specific ways to deal with the "puzzles" made it feel old-school, but I still loved the ending to Killer Croc where you realised why you put the explosive mine at the start of the level. But they're so far and between, that I always remember the amazing storytelling moments that aren't included in cutscenes and are very subtle kinda like Half Life.
