Well, I've heard that they didn't cut any corners for the Wii version of this one, like sometimes happens with Wii games. And I've heard that the Beatles versions of all the instruments are the best ones available yet, so the Beatles version is a good place to start. (You'd still need to get a guitar, since the set only comes with Paul's bass).

I've been making the rounds with my megaphone, going to different neighborhoods and telling everyone how great the game is. If you tell me where your mother lives I'll make sure to spend extra time in front of her house.

I think I may have been the only three year old who knew all the words for every song on Abbey Road. I really really want Rock Band:Beatles, but I'll have to buy the whole Wii set (we only have it for PS2) and I'm saving up for an iPhone. I may forward your entry to my mother, since xmas is coming up. Maybe you could stop by her house sometime and drop big-ass hints for me?

As an 8 year music teacher, I can say that Guitar Hero/Rock Band are the 2nd greatest thing that has ever happened to Middle School Music (#1 is still High School Musical, even the boys will sing the songs from it when I crank em out on the piano).

It is so nice to have kids of all races come up and ask if I can show them how to play Iron Man by Black Sabbath or Enter Sandman by Metallica, even if it is just on the rock guitar sound on the keyboard system we have.

What you said in your last paragraph about the Beatles rock band
"I’ve heard hundreds of times before, but it’s really no exaggeration to say that playing along, mashing big colored buttons on a toy guitar along with a grossly simplified version of the real music, is like hearing the songs for the first time."

is something that I tell all my new private lesson guitar/bass students. Once you get into playing (or playing Guitar Hero/Rock Band for some) you will never just passively listen to music again. Any time you hear a song you will start mentally 'undressing' it. And once you hit that point you will never go back, and you will thank goodness for it...

Georgia misses you Chuck, and Rose got that "I felt like I needed to take a shower after it" line about Pulp Fiction from me (but I got it from my sister as we were leaving the theater).
