I’d agree that those characters aren’t well designed and don’t fit in, but I thought they stood out without being overwhelmingly jarring. It seemed more like Easter Eggs than a huge makeover. What I was concerned about is that they’d try to put the genie in the Aladdin section (they didn’t) or that the music would be poorly done (it’s noticeable but fits in as well as any of the other transitions that have been there forever).

My opinion would still be that it’s the best possible implementation of a bad idea.

Have the amend my last comment about the character design. After watching a video of the ride, only SOME of the characters are successful. Others, like Stitch, which is just plain Stitch, are bad. And others, like Jessie and Woody from "Toy Story," are really bad...

I’ll grant that I am happy the new characters they’ve added make an attempt to blend in with the ride’s style. Shoving Geoffrey Rush into “Pirates” is basically cruelty to children (and humanity in general).

Cinderella’s from ~~Paris~~ err – France!

I was about to say that I’d withhold judgement until I rode the ride, but I remembered I really really don’t want to ride it ever again. But it looks like the Pirates refurb was a lot more intrusive.

What country is Cinderella from, exactly?

Of course I hate everything about this refurb, unsurprisingly. There are other sucky rides in the park they could spend the money on improving. (Snow White, anyone?) I can’t help but feel their pissing on MY childhood with this.
