I saw journeymen first, so when I saw Rome I was shocked he was such a good actor and realized how the journeymen material was severely lacking for him.

"Rome" is the only reason I watched "Journeyman," but is also the reason I couldn't get into that show. I couldn't take Kevin McKidd as an American instead of British or Scottish, or as a mostly uptight character instead of a ridiculously uptight character.

'Rome' is part of the reason I loved 'Journeyman.' Well, "love" is a strong word, perhaps I should say "enjoyed"...

Yeah, he (James Purefoy) is really good in it, but I wasn't all that impressed until the end. He was basically just a dick for most of the series (which is understandable, since he was supposed to be), and wasn't really allowed to develop as a character until he got mixed up with Cleopatra.

Or maybe I just couldn't take him seriously because of Resident Evil.

Interesting. A friend recommended this to me as well. I raced through the first season a couple of months ago and loved it. Season 2 I watched a few episodes and didn't like it too much. I left it sitting there for a while before I finally finished it off and yeah Season 2 did pick up. I just loved the two characters of titus pulo and verinus and how they weaved these two characters story arc into all the major Rome story lines. Yes Atia was deliciously evil but special mention has to go to the guy who played Marc Anthony. I thought he played it brilliantly.
