Yeah, I thought this season was one of the best, but the finale was the least interesting episode of all. I loved the season's flash forwards, and I love the idea that the next goal is about getting back onto the island. Great twist. But, Locke in the box disappointed me.

I was really hoping for a more interesting twist, like Nestor Carbonell in there (but then also shown somewhere else still kicking), or Ben staring at his own doppelganger, or Jack's dad dead (again), or something else that just suggests some more bizarre fun.

Plus, dropping into the fake frozen cave to turn a giant mechanical wheel in order to "move" the island was about the dumbest thing I've ever seen. I was okay with the hatch and the button pressing, and all the magnetic mumbo-jumbo, but this mechanical element just seemed ridiculous.

Welcome to the site, Erik, always good to hear from other Sam & Max fans.

And yeah, I'm trying to keep in mind that I'm complaining about the show being "predictable," when it has a guy busting open a time-travel portal to get to an underground cave with hieroglyphics and a giant crank that makes an entire island disappear. I think it's a case of how this whole season has been structured: they said what was going to happen, and then it happened. That's completely counter to the philosophy of "Lost."

I'm wondering how Jack's dad is going to tie into all this as well. I'm hoping that they use it to say that Jack, Claire, and the others really do have a history with the island, and it wasn't just coincidence that they all ended up on the same plane.

I hadn't seen that interview, apparently Michael is gone for good. Can't say that I'm upset, considering how much I hate the character, but like the actor I was hoping for them to do something more with his character. According to "Good Morning America," they filmed a few different versions of the coffin reveal, and none of them were Michael.

I think it's kind of hilarious that he says he wishes there'd been a reunion between Michael & Walt, and he alleges that it was racially motivated. Even when he's not in character, he can't stop complaining about how the black guy can't get a break, and can't stop talking about MY BOY!

And I hope everybody signed up to be a test subject for Octagon Global Recruiting (sponsored by ABC, Inc). Their recruitment drive just happens to coincide with the San Diego Comic-Con. What are the odds?

"Here’s a show on network television, one of the most popular series in production, that’s now based on the premise of a bunch of plane crash survivors trying to get onto a deserted island."

My thoughts exactly. Before Lost aired 4 years ago I was anticipating it just for the classic survivor story and would've never expected it to turn into what it has now, a think piece on time travel and much more.

I do wonder how much of it was outlined, or if as you say, the writers are just making it up as they go along. The latter writing technique can either help or hurt you in the long run and the writers are managing to keep it afloat.

Honestly I was hoping for more insight into Christian's involvement in all this. Granted he is/was the narrator: "Previously on Lost...", but it seemed like his role was limited to being Jack's father and now he's right-hand man to Jacob? How bizarre.

Locke, to me, is the most interesting character but this season he's been a bit "Lost" in his role. I guess this shows how great of an actor Terry O'Quinn really is but still, he just hasn't been as watchable this season as say Ben Linus.

Michael is dead. Good riddance! Harold P. plays that role too well and while he redeemed himself at the end of the finale I'm still glad he's somewhat out the picture. I read a great article on TV Guide (http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/tvguide/365208_tvgif30.html) how he's unimpressed by his character's storyline and wished they would've had a Michael/Walt reunion. Oh well.

Despite all of the nitpicks -- I can't wait to see where they are going with all this come Season 5!

Oh! By the way, I've been reading your site for a few months now. I happened upon it from Telltale's site (I'm a big fan of Sam & Max) and really enjoy your posts. Hope to see more Lost recaps/opinions from you next season, but in the meantime I'll continue to lurk.
