Here's a neat blog entry that compares the episode to <a href="http://fienprint.blogspot.com/2007/03/did-lost-stage-its-own-rosencrantz.html" rel="nofollow">Rosencrantz and Guilderstern are Dead</a>.

The second she says, "You know what happens to guest stars," I took everything in this episode as self-referential. And they sealed it by having her look at Boone & Shannon and say, "Promise me we'll never end up like that," two characters who were kind of annoying and wasted with pretty meaningless deaths.

With that in mind, I thought the scene with Ben & Juliet was hilarious, and even a little intentionally clumsy. They're basically saying, "You know all that stuff that went on last season that seems like it's going nowhere and was being pulled completely out of our asses? Well, we MEANT to do that all along. Here's proof." And the expression on Juliet's face suggested that she didn't quite believe that, either.

Wow. You really liked the appearance by Ben and Juliet? I thought that was one of the most clumsy pieces of (unecessary) expository writing I've ever heard.

Other than that, though, I like the episode.
