About that whole "you being insane" thing... Well, I didn't want to say anything earlier, but I suppose it's time I own up to it.

I'm entirely imaginary.

Sorry for misleading you.

Hanford: I suspect that selling tickets would ruin a lot of the spontanaeity of it. It could just be a side-effect of the time of year we go to the park, but we didn't have much trouble timing it right. We got FastPasses for the general time the fireworks show would be going off, and then waited until it started to get in line.

As it turned out, the line was so short, and they didn't have anyone take our FP tickets (I'm guessing they were working Fantasmic, or didn't bother since the line was so short), so we could've ridden it twice in a row before the fireworks stopped.

Jon: yeah, it's really tough to find people who are just sentimental enough Disney dorks to enjoy an extended trip to the parks, without being so obsessive as to be annoying and so jaded as to suck all the fun out of it.

This trip kept reminding me I need to get back down to Orlando before my AP expires this August. I'd thought I was completely burnt out on Disney World, but seeing that TestTrack video already made me want to go back.

Reading this reminds me what fun it is to be at a Disney park with People Like You (and Hanford, whose reply underscores my sentimentality). Thanks Chuck.

"2. Riding Big Thunder Mountain during the fireworks is one of the most awesome things a human can do. "

You got that right. It happened to me a few years back and couldn't believe how cool it was. Every time we came over a hill there was an amazing view of fireworks bursting in the air. Since then I've tried several times to time it just but never been successful.

Disneyland could make that a special ticket, ala Fantasmic via Walt's Apartment Balcony thing they do. I'd be willing to pay a little bit (
