		<description>I'm not sure I'm the best person to be writing an advice column for people trying to decide whether they should by new computer equipment. At least, not without getting kickbacks from Apple &#038; Dell.

I'd say get the larger monitor and rationalize it as a peace-of-mind expense. Because if you're anything like me, once you get the idea stuck in your head that you need a bigger monitor, it just doesn't go away.</description>

I'm faced with a similar dilemma with Hanford -- he wants a bigger monitor, and I have to do the right thing and point out that he doesn't really need one, because his current monitor is already &lt;i&gt;obscene&lt;/i&gt;. But if he does get a new monitor, I get the aforementioned obscenely large monitor, so it's in my best interest to lead him astray.
