I think "Homestyle" is just Kellogg MindSpeak for "Original." To differentiate these from "Buttermilk" or "Chocolate Chip" or "Blueberry" while evoking nostalgia for when you were back home and your mom whipped up a fresh batch of waffles formed into vaguely Lego-like shapes and then froze them before serving them to you.

I see that this brand of waffle is "home style".

What is a "home style" waffle?

I know what "home style" potatoes are. They are those disgusting little piles of oily potatoes that masquerade as food on my breakfast plate.

Me: Wait, I ordered hash browns. This looks like a potato someone stepped on.
Waiter: Oh no, sir. This is our home style potatoes. Very good.
Me: Jesus.

Are "home style" waffles similar?
