One of my best movie memories is also of seeing "Empire." The weekend it opened there were lines around the block here, too. And as much as my parents are movie fans, they just couldn't bring themselves to spend that much time in line with a 10-year-old. One morning after the opening weekend--maybe on Wednesday or Thursday--my Dad woke me up for school as he usually did, and I did my usual "Five more minutes! I don't want to wake up!" So then he said--"Well, you have choice. You can wake up and go to school. Or you can wake up, skip school and we can all go see 'The Empire Strikes Back' instead."

Needless to say, I took the latter offer, and bounded out of bed. There was still a line to get in, but it wasn't as long of a wait, and we got to sit smack dab in the middle of the Northpoint theater (how I miss the Northpoint). I remember loving the movie, but more importantly, I remember bragging to my friends the next day that while they had all been stuck in school, I had been watching "Empire Strikes Back."

Good times.
